1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using HelpMeFax ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of service
HelpMeFax provides online fax transmission services. Users can upload documents and send them as faxes to traditional fax machines worldwide. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
3. User accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
4. Payment terms
Fax transmission fees are charged on a per-fax or per-page basis as displayed at the time of sending. All payments are processed securely through our payment providers. Prepaid account balances are non-refundable except where required by law.
4.1 Outbound fax pricing
Outbound faxes are priced by total page count (including the cover page, if you include one). The current rates are shown on the pricing page. We reserve the right to update tier rates with 30 days' notice; in-flight transmissions are honored at the rate displayed when they were sent.
4.2 Inbound fax pricing
Inbound (received) faxes are charged per page received from your account balance. Dedicated inbound numbers are billed monthly per number; some subscription plans include a number at no extra charge. Inbound faxes will be rejected if your balance is below the minimum floor (currently $0.50) or insufficient for the page count of the incoming fax. Inbound faxes exceeding our per-fax page cap (currently 100 pages) are rejected to prevent abuse.
4.3 Cover pages
Standard cover page templates are free to use and counted as one additional page in the page-count tier. Premium cover templates carry an a-la-carte fee shown at send time; Professional and Enterprise plans include premium covers at no extra charge.
4.4 Subscription cancellation and proration
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your plan benefits (discount, included numbers, page caps, premium covers) remain active until the end of the current billing period; we do not issue partial refunds for the unused portion of the period. After the period ends, your account drops to the free Pay-As-You-Go tier and any included inbound numbers either convert to standalone billing or are released, at your choice. Plan changes during a period take effect immediately and are charged or credited according to the new plan starting on the next billing cycle — there is no mid-cycle proration.
4.5 Refunds and chargebacks
Account balance top-ups (credit purchases) may be refunded subject to our discretion. If a refund or successful chargeback is processed against a credit purchase, an equivalent amount is deducted from your account balance — even if that brings the balance below zero. Refunds against fees for already-sent faxes are not generally available, since the transmission has already incurred third-party costs.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Send unsolicited faxes (spam)
- Transmit illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Harass, threaten, or harm others
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
6. Delivery and retries
We will attempt to deliver your fax up to 3 times. Delivery success depends on the recipient's fax machine being operational and answering. We cannot guarantee delivery to all fax numbers. Failed faxes may be credited or refunded at our discretion.
7. Document retention
Uploaded documents and received faxes are stored for up to 365 days (outbound) and 365 days (inbound) to allow you to view history, retry failed transmissions, and download received faxes. After this period, document files are permanently deleted from our servers — transmission metadata (date, recipient, page count, status) is retained longer for audit and billing purposes. If you need a longer retention window for regulatory compliance, please contact support.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HelpMeFax shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
9. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings.
