Why do law firms still use fax?
Many local court rules, government agencies and opposing counsel still use fax for filings, motions and time-sensitive notices. A fax produces a timestamp, a page count and a delivery confirmation: three things email does not reliably give you for proof of service or a filing window.

- Upload the wet-ink scan or the e-signed PDF; the signature is part of the page and arrives on the recipient’s copy like any other faxed page. Save Word files as PDF first.
- Long filings
- Up to 500 pages in one fax on every plan, so a 200-page brief goes as one transmission. Faxes over 100 pages are billed at $0.15 per page (never less than $24.99), so that brief is $30.00.
- Retention
- Documents are stored encrypted for 365 days on every plan, then deleted automatically. Only the metadata (recipient, timestamp, page count) is kept afterwards.
- Encryption
- AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ between your browser and HelpMeFax. Client documents never sit unattended on an output tray.
- Bulk notices
